ProfileUp

For school & college students

Marks give you one number. We give you five.

  • 1Academic
  • 2Skills
  • 3Personality
  • 4Career
  • 5Experience

Upgrade yourself by 1% a day.

Your percentage says nothing about whether you can hold a room, lead a team, explain your own idea, or name the job you actually want. ProfileUp measures all five — then gives you fifty-five minutes of work a day and a mentor who checks it.

24 questions · about 12 minutes · free, no card

01 · Your profile

This is what you get back, twelve minutes in.

Not a personality type. Not a report you read once and file away. Five numbers that start honest and then change as you actually develop.

Your next growth opportunity

Career clarity. You have strong academics and you work well with people — you just haven’t yet seen what those two things add up to. Start with the Career Explorer.

Notice what it does not say. Not “you are weak at communication”. Not a grade, not a rank, not a comparison with your class. A student told they are behind on day one closes the app.

02 · Why now

You have probably already tried three of these.

An online course

You bought it in a burst of motivation. You are 12% through. Nobody noticed you stopped.

A career counselling session

Ninety minutes, a PDF report, three suggested careers. Then nothing happened for a year.

A psychometric test

You got four letters and a description that sounded flattering. It changed nothing on Monday.

None of them are useless. They are just all one-off events, and development is not an event. What nobody does is remember what you did last week and change what they ask of you this week.

That is the entire thing we built.

03 · The loop

Eight stages, then round again.

Assess where you are. Find what you are good at. Pick a direction. Break it into ninety days. Do today’s five things. Get measured on real evidence. Change the plan. Have something to show.

  1. 01

    Assess

    Where am I today?

A 24-question baseline across all five dimensions. About twelve minutes.

  2. 02

    Discover

What am I actually good at?

Strengths first. Then development areas, then where those strengths could lead.

  3. 03

    Decide

    Which direction fits me?

Ten career clusters, ranked by how you like to work — then the unvarnished reality of each.

  4. 04

    Plan

What is my goal, and by when?

One big goal, split three ways: long-term, this year, and the next 90 days.

  5. 05

    Act

    What should I do today?

Five actions. Around 55 minutes. Not a course library to get lost in.

  6. 06

    Measure

    Am I actually getting better?

Scores move on verified evidence — never on app usage.

  7. 07

    Improve

What do I do differently now?

A mentor reads your work, and the plan changes based on what they find.

  8. 08

    Achieve

What can I show for it?

A portfolio of verified evidence — not a resume of claims.

04 · Every day

The app opens on today. Not on a dashboard.

No catalogue to get lost in, no eleven-hour course to abandon. Five things, chosen for the goal you set, that fit in the gap between two lectures.

Today · Tuesday

7day streak — don’t break it tonight

Small enough that you actually finish

Fifty-five minutes is the whole point. It is short enough to do on a bad day, which is the only reason a habit survives.

Chosen for your goal, not from a menu

If you are aiming at a finance role, you get Excel and business reading. Someone aiming at design gets a different Tuesday.

It notices when you stop

Miss four planned activities and the app asks whether the plan needs changing. Keep missing them and your mentor is told.

04b · The 1%

Why 1% and not 10%.

Every student reading this has abandoned an online course. Not through any failure of character — because it asked for two hours from someone with classes, a commute and a submission due tomorrow. Ambitious daily targets are the single most reliable way to build nothing at all.

So the ask is deliberately small enough to be boring. One per cent is a lesson, a short exercise, and one thing you record and send in. It survives a bad week, which is the only property that actually matters.

day 30day 90day 1801 year1.35×2.45×6.00×38×1% BETTER, EVERY DAYWHY A QUARTERDay 30
Barely visible. This is where most people quit.
Day 90
A 2.4× difference. First point it is obvious.
Day 365
Nobody sustains 1% daily for a year.
The arithmetic is real. You are not a bank balance — but the direction of it is why the daily ask is small and the timescale is a quarter.

The first month is invisible

A 1.35× difference does not feel like anything. This is exactly where every self-directed platform loses its students, and why a mentor is reading your work from week one.

Ninety days is the unit

By day 90 the difference is visible to you and to somebody interviewing you. That is why plans here are quarters, not years — a quarter is long enough to compound and short enough to finish.

We are not promising 37×

Nobody sustains 1% a day for a year, and a person is not a compound-interest account. The maths is here to explain why the daily ask is small — not as a claim about your outcome.

05 · The rule

Nothing moves without evidence.

Most apps reward you for showing up, because engagement is easy to measure and progress is not. We deliberately do the opposite. Watching a lesson does not raise your score. A mentor rating the presentation you recorded does.

Changes nothing

  • Opening the app
  • Watching a video to the end
  • Ticking your own box
  • Rating your own skills highly
  • A certificate of attendance

Moves your profile

  • A mentor rating work you sent in
  • Passing a test you could have failed
  • A finished project, reviewed
  • An internship, verified
  • Leading something people can confirm

Every movement is traceable. Your growth page shows which specific piece of work caused which change, so the number is never something you have to take on trust — and never something you can quietly inflate.

06 · The people

Software cannot tell you your speech lacked conviction.

So we did not try. Real people read the work you send in, tell you specifically what to fix, and rate it — and that rating is what moves your profile. No algorithm in the middle pretending to be a person.

Career coaches

For direction, when you cannot decide between two paths.

Skill mentors

Communication, finance, coding, design. They review your actual work.

Counsellors

When the problem is not academic. Confidential, always.

Industry mentors

People doing the job you are aiming at, right now.

What the system does

“Your career clarity has stayed below 50 for three assessments. Worth thirty minutes with a career coach?”

It flags when you need a person rather than another lesson. That is the difference between a platform that is automated and one that is responsible.

Meet the mentors

Backed by Expert Education, guiding students for over 30 years.

07 · Direction

We never ask which career you want.

At seventeen, nobody knows. So we ask what kind of problems you enjoy solving and what a good day looks like — then show the directions that fit, with the parts nobody puts in the brochure.

On every career page

Including the section headed “the hard parts”.

Investment banking pays extremely well and will take your weekends for two years. Design has the most open door and the most crowded one. A page that only sells is no use to someone making a ten-year decision, so we write the whole thing down.

08 · Who it's for

Where are you right now?

Class 9 to 12

Still in school

The stream you pick decides which doors stay open. Most students choose it with almost no information about what the work is actually like. Start with direction, build the skills alongside your boards.

  • Stream and subject choice
  • What careers really involve
  • Communication and confidence
  • Habits before the pressure years

In college now

Your degree gets you the interview. Nothing about it gets you the offer. This is the window to build the four things a degree does not give you — and it closes faster than you think.

  • Internship and placement readiness
  • Practical skills employers test
  • A portfolio with real evidence
  • A mentor who knows the industry
